A New Chapter for SBF Advisors: Introducing Sorren

We’re excited to share the news that SBF Advisors is growing into something bigger. We’re not just changing our name; we’re developing a new vision for the future of accounting and advisory services. As of May, we are officially Sorren.

This isn’t your typical merger or acquisition. We’re not being absorbed into a larger firm – we’re choosing to build something new and better together. Alongside other like-minded, community-based firms across the country, we’re creating a national firm from the ground up. One that’s built with purpose, rooted in relationships, and designed to help our clients and teams thrive.

Why Sorren?

Over the past nine months, we’ve been quietly collaborating with other respected firms – many of whom we’ve had longstanding relationships with. Together, we’re launching Sorren: a new Top 50 national accounting firm with 20 offices across 9 states, and counting. That means more reach, deeper resources, and expanded expertise, but with the same personal service and local touch you know us for.

The name “Sorren” blends meanings of “master of craft” and “coming together as one,” which perfectly reflects the heart of this journey.

You’ll still see all the familiar services you rely on – Tax, Audit, CAS, and Advisory – plus access to expanded specialties like Valuations, Transaction Advisory, Litigation & Forensics, and Family Office Services.

What’s Staying the Same?

You’ll still be working with the same local team you know and trust – our St. Pete office isn’t going anywhere. Our leadership team remains fully intact, just with an expanded impact across our national footprint. Steve Bunch will be stepping into the role of Managing Partner for our office, while Rich Franz, who has served as Managing Partner, will now take on a national leadership role as Sorren’s Chief Operating Officer. While W.G. Spoor will remain at our St. Petersburg office continuing to serve his local clients, he will also be taking on a national role as our firmwide Tax Managing Partner. Through it all, our core values – people, clients, and community – remain at the center of everything we do. And there’s no need to update your contacts – our office locations and phone numbers are staying the same.

What’s Changing?

With Sorren, you’ll gain access to a broader network of industry experts and advisory services, along with more tools and resources to help you tackle complex challenges. As we align systems across our offices, you can expect a more unified experience that benefits everyone.
In June, we’ll be rolling out new email addresses, but don’t worry, your current ones will still work for a while. We’re also launching a brand-new website and domain, but you’ll be automatically redirected from our current site. There’s nothing you need to do at this time. We’ll keep you updated well ahead of any changes.

While the name on the door is changing, who we are and our commitment to you is not. We’re still the same team offering the same personalized attention – now with more tools, talent, and reach than ever before.
