Richard B. Franz III

Rich is responsible for the day to day operations of the firm.  He also oversees all things related to employee engagement and firm culture. He specializes in financial analysis for businesses and individuals, and providing clients with professional consultation services. He has served clients in a variety of industries during his career, including but not limited to affordable housing development, craft breweries, technology, and manufacturing.

Prior to joining the SBF, Rich began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Tampa, serving clients in the area of financial assurance and advisory. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). Active in his community, he has served roles such as Treasurer for American Stage Theater, member of the Arts Advisory Committee of the City of St. Petersburg, member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce finance committee, committee Chair for the FICPA’s University of Florida Accounting Conference, and committee member of other various FICPA committees. He is also a graduate of Leadership St. Pete class of 2005, Chair of the Executive Committee for LSP class of 2009, and former board member of Leadership St. Pete Alumni Association.

Rich is a native Floridian and currently resides in Clearwater with his wife and three children. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, as well as a variety of outdoor activities.
